Mentorship

Mentors are people with practical experience who work beside a young person. They show a task, let the learner try it, and help them finish it safely.

We want to build steady, lasting relationships with young people, beyond one-off workshops. A parent or guardian, a young person, or an organisation referring someone can ask us about mentoring.

We review every enquiry individually. Mentoring depends on our programme capacity and on having a suitably screened mentor available, so we cannot promise an immediate match.

Enquire about mentoring

If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to send this.

If you are referring a young person from a school or community group.

We aim to reply within 24 hours.

Volunteer as a mentor

You do not need to be a trainer. If you can fix a bicycle, handle basic wiring or service an air-conditioner, you can help someone learn.

  • Help run a workshop

Set up, guide a small group and keep the session safe and on time.

  • Mentor young people

Work beside a learner, show a task, then let them try it with you there.

  • Organise events

Help plan dates, venues and the practical details of a session.

  • Help with outreach

Tell schools, families and neighbours when a workshop is coming.
